Taught 100 percent online, the Master of Science in Education – Teacher Education – Curriculum and Instruction – Mathematics program offers you the opportunity to solidify your mathematical expertise and gain specialized instructional experience.
This master's program is ideal for applicants with a strong mathematics background who are interested in transitioning into teaching, as well as applicants with teaching experience who are looking to enhance their classroom instruction or rise to content specialty roles. The M.S.Ed. Teacher Education – C&I – Math degree meets the minimum requirements to teach college level courses in high school settings under College Credit Plus programs.

Throughout the program, you will study topics that include brain-based teaching and learning, quantitative and qualitative data interpretation, mathematical problem-solving, and curriculum development.
As a graduate, you will be prepared for instructional mathematics roles such as Mathematics Teacher, Adjunct Professor, Community College Instructor or High School Teacher eligible to teach College Credit Plus programs.
Beyond this program, additional requirements are necessary to obtain teacher licensure. State requirements vary.

- Develop a deep understanding of the critical concepts and principles of mathematics and, by completion, will be able to use professional specialty practices flexibly to advance the learning of all P-12 students toward attainment of college- and career-readiness standards
- Learn and apply specialized content and discipline knowledge contained in approved state and/or national discipline-specific standards
- Demonstrate proficiencies to understand and apply knowledge and skills appropriate to mathematics so that learning and development opportunities for all P-12 students are enhanced through: Use of research and understanding of qualitative, quantitative and/or mixed methods research methodologies; Employment of data analysis and evidence to develop supportive school environments; Supporting appropriate applications of technology for their field of specialization; Application of professional dispositions, laws and policies, codes of ethics and professional standards appropriate to their field of specialization

- Complete online application for admission
- Pay $45 application fee ($90 International). Waived for active/veteran military members or for applicants who have attended the College of Graduate Studies in the past.
- Minimum 2.7 GPA
- Names and contact information for 3 professional references (in online application)
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related disciplines
- Submit official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate coursework from regionally accredited institutions
- Submit official scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (waived for applicants who have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher)
Transcripts must be mailed from the granting institution or sent electronically through a secured server vendor.
